YES, NOODLE MARKET, YES.
One of the most magical nights I had in Sydney. As a foodie fanatic, lover of new cultures, and outdoor-art nut, this was the dream.
There's tons of food stands, food trucks, patio/seating areas, photo backgrounds, twinkle lights, Chinese lanterns GALORE, and more all in Hyde Park.
I tasted so many foods - BBQ skewers, noodle plate, and even a fruity drink that came in a coconut. The food was all delicious (and hard to choose), but the atmosphere here is what makes it for me. There's so many happy people and beautiful lights, which truly makes for an incredible atmosphere.
I think these markets pop up a few times a year (you'll have to double check). -

It's fun if you make it fun.
Is it overpriced? Yes.
Is it ridiculously busy? Yes.
Are there good places to sit, eat, and hang out? If you're lucky.
The night noodle market is definitely an experience and worth checking out. But come prepared for long lines and small, expensive portions. They do only accept cards and not cash which helps speed things up. -

Just an update on this year. Found out that all you have to do to get into CITIBANK VIP area is show your bank card! Nothing free (except water) but better seating, convenient bar and a concierge menu where they deliver food to you!

After living in Sydney for nearly 4 years I finally made it to the Night Noodle Market. And it did not disappoint well worth the 4 year wait, specially since its cashless which means no fumbling around looking for coins just tap and go.
I was lucky enough to get there early so for me the wait time was reasonable but as I left around 7pm the lines where very long on some places like Mr Boa Bun. Which means you know they are going to be good. So get there early I plan to go straight there next time and try them out.
Sake is a must to try, the prawn dumplings were unique and tasted amazing. I ventured out and tried their signature loaded fries which was a great decision. I can say I have never tasted anything like it. They had a flavour that is hard to describe but I enjoyed it and recommend that everyone try it.
One Tea Lounge have cute matcha brownie shots. These are a must to try.
If you want to try something different and expand your food horizons you definitely need to go to the night noodle markets. -

while visiting Sydney on vacation from the states, we stumbled upon this night market our first night. It was honestly soo nice and soo different from the states. We didnt have any cash and we were so sad when we walked in cuz we totally thought something like this would be a cash only place, BUT NO! EVERYWHERE IS CARD ONLY. cept were from the states, so we are nuubs and dont got no paywave. =[
The korean fried potato sticks were soo good. Honestly it just had a good time. Maybe the food was a little overpriced, but i didnt care much. I was on vacation. It was awesome.
